Range Statement


The Range Statement relates to the Unit of Competency as a whole. It allows for different work environments and situations that may affect performance. Bold italicised wording in the Performance Criteria is detailed below.
Acceptable level of fluency/intelligibility	The speaker is understandable although the accent or choice of words may mark him or her off from native speakers
Parameters of own behaviour	This may include not conveying frivolous or intentionally insulting messages, not conveying intelligence concerning the other side's position or behaviour, etc
Fair and non-provocative	A provocatively expressed claim or offer may be toned down but its substance must remain unchanged
Traditional law and knowledge may include	Legal or moral precepts Stories (myths, legends, cosmologies) Medical or scientific/technical beliefs or practices
